Hawks were back in action for their first game since 1st December, and the rustiness certainly showed in the early going, a goal down after only 20 seconds and the visitors bossing the game.
It took the hosts a good five minutes to wake up, but from then on Diss dominated the half, scoring four times through Tommy Seymour 2, Harry Pullen and Ben Clements to lead 4-1 at half time, a thoroughly deserved scoreline.
Second half started with Hawks carrying on in the same vein as the first, and really should have put the game to bed, but at the 50 minute mark Corinthians had somehow managed to drag themselves back into the game with two scruffy goals.
With 30 minutes to go it was suddenly game on, and chances were spurned at both ends, until with a minute to go Ben Clements raced on to a fine Matt Munnings through ball to finally secure the three points.
Full time, 5-3, and a rather strange game, awful start, fantastic remainder of the first half, Hawks in total control, almost gave it away, but clinched it at the death.
Next week, away to Dereham, kick off TBA.
