Diss U12s opened their first game of the season with a hard-fought loss against New Buckenham U12s. Diss went down 1-0 early in the game, but new signing Harley Tricker, was able to break free and score from just inside the box. From the restart New Buckenham doubled their lead. Jack Keeley ran down the wing and was able to cut inside only to see his shot hit the crossbar. Ollie Booty came close to scoring in the first half also. New Buckenham added another goal to make halftime score:
3-1 to New Buckenham.
Diss started very lively and were pressing for another goal. The midfield players of Olly Bower, Aedan Lambert, Matthew Cosburn and Jack Wenn were kept busy second half and Diss’ good play was rewarded with Jack Keeley scoring his first goal of the season making the score 3-2. Diss kept battling in the second half and their defence of Sam Burrows, Olly Hinton, Jack Trudgill and Alfie Tubby were working hard to keep New Buckenham from adding more to their lead. Diss keeper Tobiasz Wojcik pulled off a fantastic save from a well shot free kick.
